Kat and I have been friends since back in 2014 when collaborated what are still some of my favorite creative portraits. We totally hit it off and have had the chance to work together on all sorts of creative shoots over the years. She and I would joke that I had dibs on photographing her wedding whenever the time came. Well this past December her boyfriend Tim popped the question and I was the first person she reached out to. Those dibs worked! When it came time for their engagement photos we talked through a couple of ideas, but one definitely stood out. Kat and Tim have huge passion for motorcycles and riding together, so of course we decided to do a motorcycle engagement session!
We got together on a bright an awesome summer morning – perfect for shooting on film!
We had planned to us a local park with this awesome old barn, but unfortunately a crew clearing some downed tress had to ask us to leave.
Lucky for us we were just a few miles away from one of my favorite near Atlanta, Sweetwater Creek State Park. Tim suggested that we give that a try and I’m so glad that we did. This spot on the shore of the reservoir ended up being the perfect spot to park the bike!
Let’s talk about this awesome bike for a second.
It’s a 1997 Harley-Davidson Heritage Softail. Tim has done a ton of work on this beautiful machine over the years and has torn all the way down and rebuilt it multiple times. It was the perfect bike to use for their motorcycle engagement session!
Thanks so much choosing me as your photographer Kat! I had an amazing time with you and Tim and can’t wait for your wedding this fall!!
This whole session was shot on Kodak Professional Portra 400 and TRI-X 400 films. Developed and scanned at Dunwoody Photo.
