One of the things that I love most about photographing weddings is the variety. Weddings come in all shapes and sizes. Sometimes it’s a big traditional ceremony and reception, or something small and intimate. Whatever it looks like, your wedding can and should reflect the two of you. Wether it’s out in nature or in the middle of a city, I’m down for all of them, especially elopements. That’s why I was so excited when Kristy and Jason asked me to capture their Midtown Atlanta elopement!
Kristy and Jason decided that instead of capturing the ceremony at the courthouse, that they would rather spend all of our time together doing portraits in the city. I’ll never say no to the chance to do more photos with an awesome couple!
We started out in the Four Seasons Hotel in midtown Atlanta. They have a beautiful lobby with this awesome staircase that was totally calling for some photos!
Even though it was indoors with mixed lighting, I still wanted to shoot everything on film. Thankfully, Kodak Professional Portra 400 film knocked it out of the park. I was crazy impressed with how well these shots came out!
The Woodruff Arts Center is only a couple of blocks away from the Four Seasons so we decided to walk over, and I’m so glad we did! There’s so many spots in the city that are perfect for taking portraits that you would miss if you were driving.
Can we talk about this reflection for a second? Seriously such a perfect element for photos that’s unique to the city. Even more reason to be excited about a Midtown Atlanta elopement!
